If you had a Ferrari, how would you care for it? Seeing as how a Ferrari is roughly $200,000 plus, I would imagine very well. See, if you actually owned a Ferrari, I would imagine you would do your best to purposefully care for it in a manner in which you wouldn’t care for other cars you may have owned. If your oil light came on, I would believe that you would immediately take it to a mechanic to evaluate the problem. You wouldn’t use the cheap fuel because a Ferrari is a high performance machine and in order for it to run at optimally, you need quality fuel. You would probably take it in for regular checkups and maintenance where the fluids will be changed, joints will be lubed, etc. as well to ensure that it continues to function at it’s highest capabilities. And all this you would do for a car that is still guaranteed to break down.
See, no matter how you look at it, a car is still just a machine. It absolutely will break down at some point even if you baby it. And when it breaks down, you are welcome to go and get another one. Maybe you’ll choose a Ferrari again, maybe not. Either way you can get something new. Unfortunately, your body is the only one you have. When it breaks down and dies, you can’t just go to the shop and buy another one.
Just like the Ferrari, your body needs certain things in order to perform at its best, too. Only most of us treat our bodies like a Ford Pinto rather than a Ferrari. We use crappy fuel. Most of us live on fast food, caffeine, and ridiculous amounts of sugar. When don’t change our oil. Occasionally, it’s a wise idea to essentially change your oil by removing garbage from your diet and detoxifying. We don’t lube our joints. Chiropractic is truly a necessity to make sure all our joints are aligned and moving the way they are supposed to. We don’t exercise. We make a million excuses as for why we can’t or better yet won’t/don’t want to exercise. We blame it on the business of our lives and how hard it is. The reality is that it is 100% impossible to be healthy without exercise. While it will make you look better and feel better, the greatest benefits of exercise are the amazing changes that take place in your physiology. Exercise, good nutrition, proper working joints, are genetic requirements for health. It is impossible to be healthy without them.
So what if you’ve headed down the wrong path and you see you’re currently working with a Ford Pinto? The awesome news is that you can start getting healthier today. At this instant. When does someone who smokes start getting healthier after quitting? The moment they put out their last cigarette. You can do the same. And unlike your car, your body is intelligent. Ridiculously intelligent. And when you start giving it what it needs, amazing things happen. Start today with adding in 1 extra salad a day, a 5 minute walk, and finding a good chiropractor to evaluate and improve your nervous system. If you were to only do those 3 things every day for the next year, would you be healthier than if you didn’t? Absolutely. The great news is that you don’t have to stop there. When you get used to one salad, maybe add another. When 5 minutes is too easy, go 10, then 20, then 30, then add some interval jogging and so on. Before you know it, your Pinto will start to take shape and maybe begin to have some sharp lean lines like a Ferrari.
“Decisiveness is a characteristic of high-performing men and women. Almost any decision is better than no decision at all. So be decisive.” – Brian Tracy Make today the day you decide to stop wasting your time in a Pinto and go after your Ferrari.
